January

Helping Hands Meal Preparation and Serving at New City UMC.  Making and serving dinner to homeless guest at the New City United Methodist Church to support the Safe Haven Project in Rockland County

February

SouperBowl for Caring.  Collect soup and money to support CUMAC ECHO a food bank in Patterson, New Jersey.

March

Magazines Collection.  Continued collection of magazines and delivering to the Rockland Psychiatric Center.

April

Rockland CROPWALK. Participating in the annual CROP Hunger Walk to address local and world hunger and event through Church World Services.

May

Ping Pong Tournament.  Collected monies go to support CUMAC ECHO, a food bank in Patterson, New Jersey.

Mission Sunday.  Organizing and hosting a Mission Sunday where all church member are engaged in an outreach mission, including visiting our shut-ins, making prayer shawls, working in a community garden, preparing sandwiches for a local shelter, sprucing up things around the church, helping the elderly with special projects, and etc.

June

Rockland County Relay for Life.    Organizing a Rockland County Relay for Life team to raise money to help bring awareness and prevention of cancer.

July/August

Youth Retreat.  Sponsor our Youth Group on their summer mission trip to Washington, DC to work with and learn more about our capital’s homeless issue

Back to School with Dignity through People to People. Collecting school supplies for Back to School with Dignity, a program ran by People to People to ensure needy children have the basic supply at the start of school;

September

PRUMC 150th Mission in Action – Food Packaging Event.  To help feed the food insecure in our region.  Our minimum goal is to prepare and package 20,000 meals at a cost of $.25 each.  This means we must fundraise a minimum of $5,000 and obtain 150 volunteers.  Meals will go to support CUMAC ECHO, a food bank in Patterson, NJ.

Mission Sunday.  organizing and hosting a Mission Sunday where all church member are engaged in an outreach mission, including visiting our shut-ins, making prayer shawls, working in a community garden, preparing sandwiches for a local shelter, sprucing up things around the church;

St. Stephens/People to People Food Drive at ShopRite.  hosting a food drive at our local supermarket, ShopRite, that normally yields 3,000 pounds of food that is delivered to St Stephen’s Food Pantry and People-to-People food pantries.

October

Operation Christmas Child.  Participating in Operation Christmas Child, this organization collected over 4,500 shoe boxes from our county alone to support global needs of children

November

Thanksgiving Food Collection.  Collect fresh vegetables, frozen turkeys and other items for our Thanksgiving Food Drive at church and deliver to the People-to-People food pantry.           

December

People to People Project Joy.  Adopt 2 families with adopting two families with a combined total of about 8 children at Christmastime and arranging to fill each child’s Christmas wishes through the People to People Project Joy, this helps give some of our Christmas spirit to the children.
